Venues, venues and more venues. Just when you think Las Vegas has built more than enough premium meeting and exhibition space to meet the needs of every size and type of convention group under the sun, the bustling desert city continues to surprise by coming up with more.
Home to more than 11 million square feet of meeting and exhibit space, including three of the nation’s 10 largest convention centers, more than 140,000 hotel rooms and a plethora of dining, shopping and entertainment possibilities, it’s no wonder that The Entertainment Capital of the World draws in more than five million convention delegates each year.
Here are some of the newest spaces – as well as a few exciting new entertainment options – now available or coming soon to the destination:
Innovative New Conference Space at Park MGM: The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino is undergoing a $450 million revamp and rebrand project to transform the 21-year-old property into a luxury resort by the end of 2018. Dubbed Park MGM, the resort
includes a new 80,000 square foot meetings and conference space capable of hosting up to 5,000 attendees and featuring 43 high-tech meetings rooms, expansive ballrooms, flexible meeting places and an outdoor terrace.
Expansion of MGM Grand Conference Center and Stay Well Meetings: MGM Resorts International is in the process of a 250,000 sq. ft. expansion of the MGM Grand Conference Center that will increase its footprint to more than 850,000 sq. ft. Scheduled to be completed at the end of 2018, the new space will connect to the existing Conference Center on all three levels and include a 5,500 sq. ft. outdoor courtyard; a 49,000 sq. ft. ballroom; a 32,000 sq. ft. ballroom, three junior ballrooms and 11 breakout rooms. Stay Well Meetings, a wellness meetings experience featuring amenities and programs designed to stimulate healthy, productive and creative work environments, will also grow an additional 22,000 sq. ft. and encompass the Conference Center’s entire second floor.
New CAESARS FORUM Conference Center: Caesars Entertainment is gearing up to break ground on CAESARS FORUM, a new 550,000 square foot conference center on the east side of the Las Vegas Strip. The $375 million facility will feature 300,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space; two of the largest pillarless ballrooms in North America at 108,000 sq. ft. each, two 40,000 sq. ft. ballrooms and state-of-the-art boardrooms.
The Las Vegas Convention Center District Expansion Project: The $1.4 billion Las Vegas Convention Center District expansion and renovation project is underway. Projected to be completed by 2023, it will be completed in four phases, with the Phase 1 construction of new outdoor exhibit space already completed. Now underway is Phase 2, which entails a 1.4 million-square-foot expansion featuring 600,000 square feet of exhibit space, meeting rooms and support space.
Phase 3 will involve the complete renovation of the existing 3.2 million-square-foot facility, new meeting rooms, an exhibit halls connector and a new east lobby entry, while Phase 4 will focus on future improvements.
Luxor Hotel and Casino Remodel: The iconic pyramid-shaped hotel recently unveiled its newly remodeled hotel rooms as the resort continues the redesign of more than 1,700 rooms in its East and West towers. The remodel began in early November and will continue to roll out through Q1 of this year.
New Cocktail Bar at Palazzo Las Vegas: Rosina, an elegant new cocktail retreat with Art Deco flair has debuted at the Palazzo. As the first of three new cocktail bars planned for the resort, this intimate venue celebrates hand-crafted cocktails in an exclusive setting and seats just under 65 guests.
Fly LINQ Zipline Attraction: Caesars Entertainment will soon break ground on Fly LINQ, a $20 million, 12-story-high zipline capable of sending 10 side-by-side guests soaring above the LINQ Promenade, the open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district situated across the Strip from Caesars Palace. Construction is expected to begin in the Spring and be completed by the end of this year.
Lady Gaga Coming to Park Theater: Six-time GRAMMY Award-winner, Golden Globe Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee entertainer Lady Gaga will be taking up a two-year residency at Park Theater at Park MGM beginning in December 2018. Her superstar energy and raw talent are sure to make an indelible mark on the Las Vegas entertainment landscape.
