Summer Fancy Food Show Largest Ever in New York City

The 2016 Summer Fancy Food Show was the largest in exhibit space since it was established in 1954. More than 2,670 exhibitors filled the halls of Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, with the latest in specialty food and beverages from across the U.S. and 55 countries.

Owned and produced by the Specialty Food Association, the show ran June 26-28. More than 47,000 specialty food professionals were in the exhibit halls, which spanned the equivalent of six football fields.

UFI Selects Fiera Milano’s Corrado Peraboni as New President for 2018

In the midst of UFI’s Open Seminar in Basel, Switzerland, the association’s board of directors has selected Corrado Peraboni, CEO of Fiera Milano, as the president of UFI for 2018.

As a result, the UFI Presidential Trio for the 2016-17 term will comprise Andreas Gruchow, (Deutsche Messe AG), president 2016-2017; Corrado Peraboni (Fiera Milano, Italy), incoming president; Sergey Alexeev (ExpoForum-International Ltd., Russian Federation), outgoing president.

CEIR Releases Fourth Report in Attendee Retention Insights Series

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research has released the fourth report in its newest series, 2016 Attendee Retention Insights Part Four: Special Activities and Amenities that Build a Loyal Alumni Attendee Audience.

This newest addition to the series offers organizers a comprehensive resource to help understand the profile of attendees that visit an exhibition repeatedly and the content that turns them into loyal customers.

200-plus Attendees Take Part in IAEE Women’s Leadership Forum

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events celebrated a sold-out Women’s Leadership Forum April 26 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

More than 200 attendees took part in this year’s event, which featured education sessions for women at all stages of their career.

“This year’s attendance reflects the overwhelming interest in programming addressing topics specific to female professionals,” said 2016 IAEE Chairperson Julie Smith, CEM, CTA.

UFI Announces Recipients of Inaugural “Next Generation Leadership Grant” Program

A truly global group of talent from the exhibition industry has been selected as the first-ever recipients of the new “Next Generation Leadership Grant” launched by UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

The program promotes the next generation leadership in the exhibition industry, who show clear initiatives in driving change and innovation in their respective area.

Out of the numerous applications from 16 different countries, a jury, chaired by UFI President Sergey Alexeev, selected the five recipients of the grant. They are (in alphabetical order):

E2MA Red Diamond Congress 2016 Shined within the Engagement World Platform
