CES 2017 Upgrades Its Mobile App Experience with Eventbase
Eventbase Technology, an app platform for premium events, is powering the indoor and outdoor wayfinding technology in the CES® 2017 mobile app using the largest deployment of proximity beacons at the show to date, according to Eventbase officials.
“CES has grown to record-breaking size over the last 50 years,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™. “We want attendees to be able to effortlessly navigate our multiple show venues and have easy access to a great deal of information.”
She added, “We’re working with Eventbase to leverage thousands of beacons throughout the show floor to continue the expansion of this navigation system and create a more interactive experience for attendees.”
The network of 3,000 Gimbal beacons will help attendees navigate the showfloor by providing venue-wide location and routing on a detailed 3D map using Heidelberg Mobil’s Deep Map™ technology.
Eventbase pioneered the use of beacons at events with wayfinding emerging as a valuable tool for trade shows.
The technology taps into the power of beacons to enhance event experiences and removes the frustration of navigating larger, more complex events.
CES has used this technology for several years, including implementing a beacon-based scavenger hunt in past years and introducing a beacon-based navigation last year.
The CES 2017 App features attendee networking for the first time through LinkedIn integration. With this feature, attendees will be able to opt-in and message each other in the app to arrange meetings on-site. The app also offers push notifications to get the latest CES news to app users.
“Eventbase delivers technology to help attendees make the most of their event experience, finding the technology and content that interests them most,” said Jeff Sinclair, co-founder and CEO of Eventbase.
He added, “With in-app point-to-point navigation, attendees will find it easier than ever to navigate the exhibitor floor and optimize their time.”
CES has more than 165,000 attendees and 3,800+ exhibiting companies.
The app is available for iOS and Android with a Windows 10 version is coming soon. Search “CES 2017” in the App Store or Google Play and download it today.
