HMP Communications Holdings Enters into Strategic Alliance with ISET-CIO Meetings
HMP Communications Holdings, LLC, a leading provider of healthcare content and continuing medical education events, today announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with two prominent meetings providing education to a multidisciplinary audience: the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET) and the Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO).
“This alliance is consistent with two of our strategic goals: growing our healthcare events portfolio and expanding our presence in new therapeutic areas,” said Jeff Hennessy, chairman and CEO, HMP Communications Holdings.
He added, “We are combining the legacy of two pioneering brands renowned for their originality, dynamic learning, and patient-care focus, with HMP’s expertise in delivering premier education and meeting experiences. We are also committed to expanding the brands globally and enhancing the world-class education for which ISET and CIO are known.”
Created in 1989, by interventionist Barry T. Katzen, MD, the founder and chief medical executive of Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute (MCVI), ISET is an educational meeting for physicians and allied health professionals who treat patients with peripheral, cardiac and neurovascular disease. T
he meeting draws attendees and leading experts from around the world, and provides information on the latest techniques and technology.
In addition to Dr. Katzen, a slate of course directors drive the meeting’s programming: James F. Benenati, MD; Alex Powell, MD; Ramon Quesada, MD; Shaun Samuels, MD; Constantino Peña, MD; Adam Geronemus, MD; Ripal Gandhi, MD; and Jane Kiah, RN.
Taking place concurrently with ISET annually in South Florida, CIO features a two-day program highlighting innovative and viable treatments in interventional oncology.
“For nearly three decades we have been equipping clinicians with premier endovascular education and were the pioneers of ‘live case’ education in the United States prior to that. Beginning in 2017, the ISET and CIO events will benefit from the strength and expertise HMP brings in medical meeting management, education and marketing,” Dr. Katzen said.
He added, “This alliance marks three strong and well-respected brands uniting to deliver world-class endovascular and interventional education to a multidisciplinary audience, with a unique personal and interactive approach.”
CIO Chair Dr. Benenati, agrees, “Widening the ISET and CIO reach through HMP’s robust network will give added strength and momentum to the meetings. We look forward to HMP building on the powerhouse education we have provided since the inception of the programs.”
The alliance bolsters HMP’s already strong presence in the interventional cardiology space. In 2015, the company acquired the Amputation Prevention Symposium (AMP), the only meeting dedicated to education on the treatment and prevention of amputations as a result of Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI).
The CIO meeting adds a new element to the company’s growing focus on the field of oncology, delivering state-of-the art education to clinicians throughout the cancer care spectrum.
Earlier this year, HMP also announced the launch of the Clinical Pathways Congress, taking place September 16-18, 2016 in Boston, that will bring together oncology leaders to address critical questions around care pathways and develop strategies to ensure pathways are designed to align with provider, payer and patient needs.
With the agreement, HMP will produce more than 260 national, regional and local events in 2017 across a range of therapeutic areas.
