IAEE Teams Up with VisitDallas for Women’s Leadership Initiatives and Forum

October 26, 2018

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has formed a partnership agreement with VisitDallas for its Women’s Leadership Initiative and its annual forum in Washington, D.C.

Going forward, VisitDallas will be the prominent partner in IAEE’s Women Leadership-focused activities including the Women’s Leadership website, ConnectNow newsletter and other products and services available to female IAEE members (with the exception of other sponsored events at Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition or webinars).

“We’re honored to partner with IAEE on this important effort to present relevant content to women in the meetings and events space,” said Phillip Jones, president and CEO of VisitDallas. “Dallas is a city that abounds with strong women leaders in the exhibitions and events industry, and we look forward to powerful, thought-provoking forums in Dallas and across the country.”

The CVB will also serve as the Diamond Partner for the annual Women’s Leadership Forum (WLF), set for April 29-30 at Lansdowne Resort and Spa outside of Washington, D.C., as well as three half-day Women’s Leadership Regional Forums that will take place in Los Angeles, Dallas and in the Midwest next year.

“The success of the Women’s Leadership Forum has been phenomenal since its inception in 2013,” said Cathy Breden IAEE executive vice president and COO.

She continued, “The fact that the program sells out every year shows us that attendees count on IAEE to lead the charge in presenting relevant and thoughtful professional development designed for women – and we aim to deliver! This partnership with VisitDallas opens even more doors for attendees interested in making the most out of the WLF experience.”

The Women’s Leadership Forum in April will include a reception the evening of the 29thfollowed by a full day of programming on the 30th, while the regional forums will offer a half-day of programming followed by a networking lunch.

Although the regional forums will follow the WLF signature format, the programs will source from regional experts and speakers for a more robust offering of the annual forum, according to IAEE officials.

“The IAEE Board of Directors is very excited about paving the way for women in our industry through these additional networking, thought leadership and education opportunities,” said Daniel McKinnon, IAEE chairperson.

He added, “We are fortunate to have a strong representation of women within our industry, and especially within IAEE.”

VisitDallas also is supporting 2019 TSNN Awards, taking place in Dallas Nov. 15-17 at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center and the Omni Dallas Hotel.
