Messe Frankfurt North America and FPSA to Co-produce PROCESS EXPO
Messe Frankfurt Inc. and the Food Processing Suppliers Association have entered into a joint venture to align their resources and co-produce PROCESS EXPO, the U.S’s largest horizontal trade show for the food and beverage processing and packaging industry. Through FPSA’s strong industry relationships and MFI’s international reputation as a leading event producer servicing the food technology and processing markets, the biennial PROCESS EXPO will benefit from an expanded global reach as well as a customized attendee and exhibitor experience, according to show officials.
Last spring, MFI was tapped to manage the next edition of PROCESS EXPO, set to run as planned Oct. 12-15, 2021, at McCormick Place in Chicago. Now, as part of the new partnership agreement, FPSA’s long-standing position in the industry will be supplemented by MFI’s extensive event management, marketing and sales expertise.
“FPSA began our trade show journey more than 10 years ago with the primary goal being to host the largest and most valued food processing trade show in the Americas,” said Matt Malott, chairman of FPSA and president and CEO of Multivac Inc. “As a leader on a global scale, Messe Frankfurt’s far-reaching influence provides PROCESS EXPO with a heightened visibility and solidifies its importance in the marketplace.”
Within the strategic alliance, FPSA and MFI will maintain PROCESS EXPO’s mission to grow food and beverage processing and packaging industry businesses while showcasing the industry’s latest developments in machinery, products, technology and services. The event will continue to serve as a global business platform for engineers, scientists, R&D, sales and marketing professionals, and others from small to large processing and packaging companies as well as contract manufacturers and suppliers.
In 2019, the show attracted more than 9,000 food and beverage processing and packaging professionals, and more than 500 exhibitors spanning 230,000 square feet of expo space.
The collaboration between MFI and FPSA will herald an array of new changes to the show, including a refreshed look, a focus on stakeholder communication and a reinvigoration of the brand, according to event officials.
“We are excited to co-produce PROCESS EXPO alongside FPSA in the future, as our competencies complement each other perfectly,” said Konstantin von Vieregge, MFI president and CEO. “Our aim is to create a platform that is the first choice for business encounters within the food and beverage processing and packaging industry.”
He continued, “With many shows being postponed and/or cancelled over the past few months due to COVID-19, companies have recognized once more the importance of face-to-face encounters and the ability to showcase equipment functionality directly to customers.”
PROCESS EXPO will mark the first major in-person event for the food and beverage processing and packaging industry in 2021, he added.
Messe Frankfurt’s food processing and technology portfolio currently comprises six international trade shows in Argentina, Russia, Thailand and Germany that attract approximately 1,400 exhibitors and more than 93,000 global visitors.
