Michael Dominguez Named President and CEO of ALHI

June 18, 2019

Michael Dominguez has been named president and CEO of Associated Luxury Hotels International. The well-known, well-liked industry veteran previously served as senior vice president and chief sales officer for MGM Resorts International for the past seven years. He also directed sales development for Loews Hotels as vice president of global sales prior to MGM.

Colleagues say Dominguez’s strategic leadership, innovative business development, hands-on sales oversight and implementation of effective sales strategies in both the MICE and transient segments will lead him to be successful in his new leadership role with ALHI.

“Michael is highly respected and actively involved in leadership roles in our meetings and events industry,” said Bill Dyer, chairman of the board of Associated Luxury Hotels, the parent company of ALHI. “He is the ideal person for this position, with the right experience and industry network to lead our organization to new heights.”

Dominguez will officially step into his new position on July 8 as only the fourth CEO in ALHI’s 33-year history. It should be a smooth transition for the Las Vegas-based leader, as he has worked with ALHI’s sales organization for more than two decades as a member.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the top global sales organization in the luxury market,” said Dominguez. “ALHI’s collection of member hotels, which includes MGM Resorts and Loews Hotels, as well as some of the world’s most iconic hotels and resorts, is unmatched in its diversity and quality.”

He continued, “I look forward to the opportunity not only to ensure that ALHI remains a leader in the luxury market, but also to help shape the meetings and events industry as a whole.”

Demonstrating his persona as an accessible leader, Dominguez regularly shares his travels and insights with his followers on social media. Follow along and engage with his informative and entertaining Instagram and Twitter pages.

ALHI serves as the global sales extension of a selective membership of luxury hotels and resorts, cruise ships and DMCs. It was created in 1986 to give smaller and independent hotels a chance to compete for business with major hotel chains within the MICE segment. It currently serves more than 250 luxury and upper-upscale meeting-and-incentive-focused hotels and resorts globally.
