New Destinations International Campaign Highlights Value of CVBs During Crises
Destinations International recently announced its new “We’re Here to Help” recovery campaign, which aims to unify the meetings, events and travel industry by demonstrating that CVBs play a critical role in recovery when the unexpected happens.
“There is no substitute for people working together to overcome dramatic and difficult challenges,” said Don Welsh, president and CEO of DI. “This campaign shows the resilience of our industry and how when we come together, great things are possible.”
He continued, “CVBs are the community connectors and will continue to be an essential extension of an event strategist’s team and help navigate what events will look like in the future.”
Throughout this challenging season, meetings, events and travel have taken a pause — yet the ability to help business event strategists has not changed. While meetings may never go back to the way they were, CVBs provide a level of actionable, boots-on-the-ground intelligence that is essential in reimagining what a successful meeting looks like as we move forward in uncertain times, according to DI officials.
Additional campaign partners include the Events Industry Council, Experiential Designers + Producers Association, International Association of Exhibitions and Events, International Association of Venue Managers, Meetings Mean Business, Meeting Professionals International, Northstar Meetings Group and Professional Convention Management Association.
Through this collective effort, “We’re Here to Help” will drive awareness of a CVB's ability to help planners navigate in an ever-changing landscape. The website links to more than 120 CVB destination sites and contacts available to help solve the needs of planners by servicing meetings with insider knowledge and established connections within the community.
Additionally in late June, Cvent will launch a new feature on its Cvent Supplier Network that will give CVBs the ability to build relationships with planners by helping them source venues for their events. The feature will also be accessible from the “We’re Here to Help” campaign site.
