PCMA Signs Partnership Deal with Korea MICE Association
PCMA and Korea MICE Association have signed a two-year strategic agreement to provide support to members of both organizations and equip them for the post-COVID return of events through specialized training programs.
The partnership will focus on the delivery of PCMA’s Digital Event Strategist (DES) course in Korea, in a move to ensure event planners are skilled for designing and delivering hybrid and digital events.
Karen Bolinger, PCMA’s managing director for APAC, said this partnership is an opportunity to engage with the Korean business events industry by providing practical, skills-based training.
“We are delighted to work in partnership with our colleagues at Korea MICE Association to help support their industry to rise to the challenge of running engaging events in the post-COVID business events space,” said Bolinger.
Each country in the Asia Pacific region has a unique road to recovery, she pointed out; however, being able to provide valuable education to event planners is a big part of ensuring a successful future for the events industry.
“We look forward to having members of the Korea MICE Association engaging in our local and global community conversations, and to hearing about their experiences and point of view of what they need to fuel their recovery,” Bolinger added.
Chun Kim, president of Korea MICE Association (which has worked with PCMA since 2017), said the partnership is a constructive opportunity for members and stakeholders in the Korean MICE industry during this time.
“The MICE industry has been facing a transformation and has seen an increased need to collaborate on creating a digital environment for events,” Kim said. “The DES course will be the most productive way to bring our members to the next level in the industry.”
The partnership has already seen 26 members from Korea MICE Association start the Digital Event Strategist course in August 2020.
