SPS – Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou Sees 14-percent Attendance Increase

The recent SPS – Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou, held March 7-9 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou – drew a record number of exhibitors and visitors.

There were 22,189 visitors from 60 countries and regions, an increase of 14 percent, compared with last year.

Chinese visitors numbered 21,312 and 877 were international visitors.

Exhibitors represented 438 companies from 15 countries and regions, up 24 percent, compared with last year.

Some of the exhibitors included Siemens, Lenze, Phoenix Contact, Harting, Weidmueller, Beckhoff, Pilz, ifm, Pepperl+Fuchs, Wieland, Leuze, Sick, Vipa, Baumer, Autonics, Weinview, Proface, Sanyodenki, Banner, Contrinex, Kinco, Mecano, Schmersal, LS Mecapion, Toshiba, Hiwin and Saia-Burgess. Their products and technologies were showcased in three halls totaling 32,000 sqm.

 “The visitor and exhibitor turnout at this year’s event reflects demand for industrial automation technology that responds to the challenges of output, quality assurance and labour costs, which could be found at the show,” said Louis Leung, deputy general manager of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt, one of the organizers of the fair.
 

Exhibitors also were pleased with the show.

"We choose this show to exhibit in southern China as it is the most professional event of its kind in the region,” said Maggie Wu, marketing communication specialist for Rittal Electro-Mechanical.

She added, “It attracts end users, system integrators, trading companies and distributors which are our target buyers. Also, the facilities and transportation systems in Guangzhou are convenient and sophisticated.”

Visitors also rated the show positively. “The fair is a good learning and information exchange platform,” said Yu Wei Bing from the electrical department of Nickel Printing Machinery.”

He added, “I have found equipments such as programmable logic controllers and servos which can be added to our existing production lines to improve output.”

Besides a busy showfloor, the fair also featured 10 seminars that attracted an audience of 1,100 visitors.

The next edition of SPS – Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou will take place March 4-6, 2013, at the same venue.
