HKTDC to Open Electronics & Lighting Fairs
Despite the ongoing protests, Hong Kong’s autumn peak trade show season is now well underway. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will open four trade shows later this month, including Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), electronicAsia, Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) and Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo.
Positioned as the world’s largest electronics marketplace, the concurrent Electronics Fair and electronicAsia will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) running from 13th to 16th October. About 4,300 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions are expected to showcase their products at the concurrent shows. The Electronics Fair is organised by the HKTDC, while electronicAsia is jointly organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Limited.
The Lighting Fair will run from 27th to 30th October, also at HKCEC, while the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will be held at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) from 29th October to 1st November. The two fairs will present some 3,100 exhibitors.
Benjamin Chau, HKTDC Acting Executive Director, stated, “The four upcoming fairs have attracted about 7,430 exhibitors in total, a figure on a par with last year, showing that the recent social unrest in Hong Kong has not affected global exhibitors’ confidence in relation to attending trade fairs in the city, and that Hong Kong remains attractive as a global marketplace.”
