Expo Pack Mexico 2012 Books 90 Percent of Exhibition Space Seven Months Out
The Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute’s Expo Pack Mexico is getting a major vote of confidence from companies interested in the show, with 90 percent of the exhibit space being booked seven months out.
The event will be held June 26-29 at Centro Banamex, Mexico City, and the high demand for the space several months before the show opens “clearly demonstrates exhibitor confidence in the market,” said José Martínez, Latin American office director for show owner and producer PMMI.
“We are very pleased with the interest generated again by Expo Pack México,” Martinez said.
He added, “The number of confirmed exhibitors is a sign of the favorable business climate in the region, which offers new opportunities for both national and international exhibitors.”
PMMI officials said they expect Expo Pack México 2012 to host more than 900 packaging and processing solutions providers and 25,000 buyers representing brands in at least 23 vertical markets.
To meet the needs of the fast-growing pharmaceutical market in Mexico, the largest in Latin America, Expo Pack México will once again host the Pharmaceutical Pavilion.
The pavilion, already expanded by 20 percent earlier this year, is 85 percent sold out.
“Another reflection of the growth of the pharmaceutical market in Mexico is that since we first presented the Pharmaceutical Pavilion in 2010, attendance by professionals in that sector has more than doubled,” Martinez said.
In addition, the exhibition will again host the PROCESA Pavilion, dedicated to the food processing industry; the Container and Materials Pavilion; the Financing Pavilion; and international pavilions from Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Peru, Spain and the United States.
Besides a Plethora of pavilions, PMMI also has made new partnerships to further expand the reach of the show.
The National Association of Producers and Distributors of Purified Water will hold its 2012 Congress, which brings together more than 100 executives from the bottled water industry, concurrently with Expo Pack México.
In addition, CANAINCA, the Mexican Chamber of Processed Food, and CANIFARMA, the National Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry, have pledged their support, and are promoting the show to their member companies and organizing buying groups to attend.
“Expositions like Expo Pack México are much more than marketplaces. They’re gathering spots for industry,” Martinez said.
He added, “Leading brand owners and the most important packaging and processing solutions providers will attend the 27th edition of Expo Pack México.”
