Marketplace Events Acquires Cincinnati Home & Garden Show
Marketplace Events has acquired the Cincinnati Home & Garden Show from Hart Productions of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Cincinnati show is the largest single-show acquisition made by Marketplace Events, known as the No. 1 producer of consumer home and garden events in North America.
“We are thrilled to add a show of this size and quality to our portfolio,” said Tom Baugh, CEO of Marketplace Events.
He added, “I’ve been friends for decades with the Harts, so it is a special honor for me to know Marketplace Events is assuming stewardship of one of the finest home and garden shows in North America. Hart Productions maintains a stellar reputation in the Cincinnati market and we look forward to building upon that strong foundation in growing the show.”
Hart Productions will continue to operate six other annual events in the Greater Cincinnati market, including shows in the holiday, boat, adventure sports, golf, baby, children and family industries.
“We are pleased to turn this show over to the very capable team at Marketplace Events,” said Vicki Hart, CEO of Hart Productions.
She added, “Their resources and deep industry experience, especially in the area of marketing, will ensure that this show continues to thrive in the future.”
Toni Garbo, who joins Marketplace Events after spending 24 years at WJW FOX 8 in Cleveland, will serve as show manager for the Cincinnati Home & Garden Show.
Marketplace Events also has a partnership with Cincinnati-based Scripps Digital, which provides digital expertise to support all 58 Marketplace shows and also supports exhibitors directly through the company’s Marketing Solutions division.
This latest show acquisition brings the Marketplace Events portfolio to 58 shows in 26 markets, with the Cincinnati Home & Garden Show as the 14th event acquired by the company since Feb 2016, when Marketplace Events was purchased by Sentinel Capital Partners.
Those recent acquisitions include the Southern Spring Home + Garden Show; the Southern Ideal Home Shows in Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh and Charlotte, NC; the Southern Christmas Show; the Calgary Renovation Show; the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show; the Indiana Flower + Patio Show; the Virginia Home Show; the Richmond Home + Garden Show and the Richmond Home Show.
Held March 10-12 at the Music City Center in Nashville, the Nashville Home + Remodeling Expo is the company’s latest show launch.
Marketplace Events produces 38 consumer home shows in the U.S., 14 in Canada and six holiday shows, events that annually attract 15,000 exhibitors, 1.75 million attendees and two million unique web visitors combined.
