EXPO MANUFACTURA Celebrates Steady Uptick in Attendance, Showfloor
Reflecting the dynamic growth of the manufacturing industry in Latin America, EXPO MANUFACTURA, the annual trade show and conference for the manufacturing and processing industry in Mexico, recently pulled off its largest show to date at CINTERMEX in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Held Feb.6-8 under the theme “Manufacturing 4.0: Maximum Productivity and Competitiveness,” the 22nd edition of the three-day trade show and conference boasted a five percent increase in attendance with more than 12,944 industry professionals and 336 exhibiting companies showcasing 600 brands and technology solutions, as well as a nine percent uptick in size, at 76,079 square feet.
International show participation also grew, with more than 90 exhibitors from 11 countries.
“Currently, more than 75 percent of exhibition space is already booked for the 2019 event,” said Ned Krause, CEO of E.J. Krause & Associates, which produces the show.
He continued, “We continue to see added investment in Mexico’s manufacturing sectors. The country is ripe for growth and we see the manufacturing industry playing a key role in this. We are very pleased with the solid growth EXPO MANUFACTURA has seen year after year and see continued growth for the future.”
On the expo floor, hundreds of machines and equipment displays including industrial equipment, robots, new digital solutions, water and laser cutting machines, automation, electronic equipment and quality control solutions provided visitors with a live experience of Manufacturing 4.0 in action.
Featured exhibitor areas included Plastics Manufacturing, Automation and Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Medical Device Manufacturing as well as a dedicated Experience for Technology, Manufacture and Solutions (ETMS) pavilion sponsored by the Association for Technology, Manufacture and Solutions (ATMS).
The event’s three-day conference program also experienced growth, with more than 695 participants taking advantage of general sessions, keynotes and workshops covering the latest trends, successful practices and case studies, resulting in a 30 percent increase in participation compared to the previous year.
“EXPO MANUFACTURA continues to be recognized as the benchmark manufacturing event in the region and has become the ideal venue for the private sector to access the most prominent training, technology and operational solutions designed to generate profitability as well as sustainability, according to show officials,” Krause added.
EXPO MANUFACTURA 2019 will return to the CINTERMEX Feb. 5-7.
