Eco Expo Asia Promotes Low-carbon Future
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will open the 13th edition of its Eco Expo Asia later this month focusing on energy-saving products and green technologies.
Held at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) Oct. 25-28, Eco Expo Asia is organised by the HKTDC and Messe Frankfurt (HK), and co-organised by the Environment Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong.
Some 330 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions will attend the show which will feature a wide range of green products and technologies. This year’s theme is “Waste Less Save More for a Low-carbon Future” with the aim of promoting waste-reduction awareness.
A total of nine thematic zones will be showcased at the show, including Green Buildings and Energy Efficiency, Green Transportation, Waste Management and Recycling and the Startup zone.
The largest zone will be the HKSAR Government pavilion in which the Environment Bureau will cooperate with various government departments to promote environmental policies and green projects.
HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Benjamin Chau, commented, “We are currently facing a range of environmental challenges across the globe.”
He added, “The business sector and governments across Asia have been actively promoting waste reduction and energy saving. As Asia’s leading innovative technology hub, Hong Kong can provide the latest solutions for carbon reduction and drive the region’s development of the environmental industry through events such as Eco Expo Asia, bringing together a wide array of innovative green products and technologies.”
