Tarsus Mexico Acquires Remaining Stake in EBIO Beauty Brand: Launches New Addition
Tarsus Mexico not only will expand the EBIO beauty brand this year - strengthening its position as an organizer of international business forums within the beauty and styling industry – but also it bought the rest of the company.
The purchase by Tarsus of the remaining 40 percent of its joint venture with Expo Guadalajara will ensure the continued success of EBIO in the city of Guadalajara and demonstrates Tarsus's confidence in Mexico and the beauty sector, according to Tarsus officials.
In addition, Tarsus signed a multi-year agreement with Expo Guadalajara to be the host venue of EBIO, giving assurance for the commercial beauty sector.
“Acquiring outstanding minority interests is a key part of our ‘Quickening the Pace 2’ strategy” said Douglas Emslie, managing director of Tarsus Group.
He added, “Mexico is a key market for the Group and the opportunity for further growth there underpinned our decision to buy the remaining 40 percent of EBIO. Given the importance of our relationship with Expo Guadalajara we also wanted to sign an agreement to guarantee that EBIO continues to be hosted there and within Guadalajara in the long term.”
With the launch of EBIO Norte, which will be held Nov. 24-25 in Cintermex, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Tarsus Mexico successfully consolidates the EBIO brand in Mexico as an industry benchmark in the country’s western and northern regions.
“The launch of EBIO Norte further solidifies the brand by supporting the various sectors within this industry, while instilling confidence and providing benefits to beauty industry executives and owners,” said Paul St. Amour, vice president of Latin America, Tarsus Group.
He added, “This significant expansion in northern Mexico is part of the company's growth strategy within the beauty sector, which could be feasible in other markets outside of Mexico,” St. Amour further explained.
José Navarro Meneses, CEO of Tarsus Mexico, said, “The successful EBIO brand is a national point of reference within the beauty and styling industry, which is meeting major market demand in the northern region of Mexico. That’s why we decided to bring the event to Monterrey.”
He added, “We want to thank the exhibitors and sponsors for their trust and loyalty; year after year they support the event’s growth. We are very excited that EBIO is part of our portfolio of global exhibitions and we will continue strengthening partnerships to expand its presence and growth in Mexico.
José Martínez, CEO of Dermatisse Cosmetics, said that “we at Dermatisse Cosmetics are very happy to join EBIO Norte, a project we are now part of. We’re certain this new event will be a total success: a space for showcasing product launches, holding training sessions with international masters, and a place to interact with our clients.”
EBIO has presented the most renowned styling artists from Mexico and around the world at its Guadalajara event.
In the 2018 edition alone, the event gathered 263 exhibiting companies from eight countries (Brazil, South Korea, China, Spain, United States, Italy, Mexico, and the Netherlands), together representing more than one thousand brands. The 2018 edition saw the attendance of 25,693 professionals from Brazil, China, Spain, United States, England, and Mexico.
EBIO has hosted prominent celebrities from the world of beauty, such as last year's invited artists the caliber of Gonzalo y Ziortza Zarauza (Spain), Alfonso Waithsman (Mexico), and Chema Luceño. Additionally, contests will be held such as the International Makeup Challenge, the Mexican Beauty Awards, and the New Barber Hero.
EBIO now will have two annual editions:
The 17th edition will be held June 2-3, 2019 in Expo Guadalajara, for which 85 percent of the exhibition floor already is sold.
The first edition in Monterrey will be on Nov. 24-25 in Cintermex, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
