Today in Atlantic City, N.J, an announcement was made through a group of family, friends and associates of Gary Musich that they will produce several fundraising activities on Gary’s behalf.
Gary is a long-time member of the MeetAC team with deep roots in the convention and meeting industries.
He recently was diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing aggressive treatment.
As part of the ongoing effort to solicit donations to help the Musich family with their high medical expenses, the group announced Fishing for a Cure, which is a concert being held at the Steel Pier in Atlantic… more

Trade Show News Network unveiled the 2018 TSNN Top Trade Shows list, with the CES show, held in January in Las Vegas, snagging the No. 1 spot.
The Consumer Technology Association’s show spanned 2,784,167 net square feet and drew 111,854 attendees to venues that included the Las Vegas Convention Center, Sand Expo Convention Center and several others in the city.

Messe Frankfurt will be powered completely by green energy starting next year. The world’s largest trade fair organizer is planning to source 100 percent of its electricity from renewable energy, including solar from its own solar power system, and hydropower or wind energy from its energy service provider, Mainova AG.
These clean energy sources will power the facility’s trade show booths, halls and exhibition grounds at the company’s base in Frankfurt, Germany.

Last week, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors voted on a proposal that could very well revolutionize the future of transportation in Southern Nevada.
They selected Elon Musk’s The Boring Company to design, construct and operate a people mover for Las Vegas Convention Center. The project would entail a loop of underground express-route tunnels that could carry passengers in high-speed autonomous electric vehicles and have potential to connect LVCC to Downtown Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Boulevard Resort Corridor, McCarran International Airport and beyond.

Fifty-plus of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s (the Centre) team members dressed in purple, white and green (2019 IWD colours) and enjoyed a walk around the lush 50-acre Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) park to mark the recent International Women’s Day (IWD). According to Singapore Tourism Board (STB), tourism receipts from the business travel and MICE sector generated S$3.4 billion (US$2.5 billion) in the first nine months of 2018, which represents growth of 10% year-on-year. Visitor arrivals in the same period increased 14%, reaching two million.

Recently, the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) released its annual report for 2018. In total, the bureau supported 300 events during the year, generating an estimated economic impact of RM2.47 billion (US$595 million) for Malaysia. A total of 350,000 delegates attended these events, including 163,000 international delegates.

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC. The Convention Way Grand Concourse project will include enhancements to the North-South Building, featuring an additional 60,000 square feet of meeting space, an 80,000- square-foot ballroom and new entry to the North-South Building along Convention Way.
“We are thrilled to begin work on completing our North-South Building which will allow us to meet the growing needs of our clients,” said OCCC Executive Director Mark Tester. “As an economic driver for the community, this project will provide the Center with connectivity and meeting space to host more events and continue to infuse the local economy with new money and expanding business opportunities.”
