JCK Las Vegas, the flagship show of Jewelry Market Week, began its 2016 show June 3 with a revamped shopping experience utilizing the new expansion of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. From the new entrance straight from the parking lot to a redesigned floorplan, it sparkled with jewels and inspiration.

Reed Exhibitions continues to expand its presence in South Korea. The world-leading events organizer recently announced its acquisition of the Electronics Manufacturing Korea show and three of the Home Table Deco Fairs held across multiple cities in the country.
The events have been acquired from K.Fairs, a highly regarded trade fair organizer in Korea, with whom Reed had already partnered in 2014 to organize Kormarine, Korea's largest international maritime industry event.

Convention and visitors bureau veteran David Whitaker was named by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Choose Chicago Board Chair Desiree Rogers as the new president and CEO of the Windy City’s bureau.

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau has plans to target more meetings and incentives groups (M&I) – especially those with a large number of delegates (defined by TCEB as “Mega Size Events”).
TCEB is increasing its M&I marketing budget under the its Thailand Big Thanks! campaign.
The THAILAND BIG THANKS! campaign is a financial subsidy scheme offering up to US$55,000 (Baht 2 million) for Mega Size M&I events with more than 2,000 international delegates staying at least three nights in Thailand.

Meeting and convention-goers holding events in Cleveland just received a nice boost, with a new 600-room Hilton opening adjacent to the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

Driven by strong industry sectors including building, construction, food and transportation, as well as overall growth in trade show industry revenues, the Center for Exhibition Industry Research Index report indicated that the industry continued its growth streak in Q1 this year, with a 2.6-percent increase, compared with the same quarter last year.
The results were positive, despite a sluggish macroeconomy, and marked the 23rd consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth.

What began as an experiment in the 1950s to see how American Rental Association (ARA) members and rental store owners would respond has now become the largest equipment rental trade show in the world.
It all started in January 1956, when 29 rental operators gathered in a Kansas City, Mo., restaurant for their first Annual Meeting. January was chosen because it was the slow season for rental business, and members

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC. The Convention Way Grand Concourse project will include enhancements to the North-South Building, featuring an additional 60,000 square feet of meeting space, an 80,000- square-foot ballroom and new entry to the North-South Building along Convention Way.
