Several international trade show organizers have placed their bets on launching shows in Myanmar, formerly Burma, as the newest place to expand their portfolios.
U.K.-based ITE Group recently announced they would be launching another show in the country, Myanmar Oil and Gas Week, along with partner company VEAS.
The show will be held Feb. 25-26 in Yangon.

Working around trade shows and events, the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has completed a $20 million renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The 54-year-old facility now sports a few façade, better parking, updated interior and an improved experience for attendees and exhibitors.

In a continued series of reports on practices in the trade show industry, the Center for Exhibition Industry Research recently released a report, Exhibitor Product Information Sharing Practices, which looks into the way exhibitors share and attendees prefer to receive product information.
The report also identifies which methods are considered most effective in supporting an organization’s overall objectives for exhibiting.

Bargain apparel, accessories and footwear event, OFFPRICE Show, posted strong numbers Aug. 17-20 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The show has seen boon times during the recession, with both of its biannual editions being honored as TSNN fastest-growing shows.
The February OFFPRICE Show set records, with square footage and highest attendance in four years. There were more than 525 exhibitors on 130,000-plus net square feet and attendance was at 11,006.

The biannual MAGIC Market Week rolled out the white carpet Aug. 18-21 across the Las Vegas Convention Center and Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino for the fashion event that just keeps on growing.
Owned by Advanstar Global, it is now comprised of 10 trade shows that focus on men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, swimwear, footwear, accessories and sourcing. Mirroring the continued growth in the overall trade show industry, several recent shows saw positive showfloor size, exhibitor and attendee numbers.
Messe Frankfurt’s Texworld USA, for example, saw tremendous growth, with 438 exhibitors from 15 countries, a 33.5 percent increase from the July 2012 show.
For the fourth time, Texworld was collocated the International Apparel Sourcing Show and the Home Textiles Sourcing Expo, which drew in a total of 731 exhibitors and 5,292 attendees.

U.K.-based Tarsus Group, along with Indonesia-based exhibition organizer Dyandra Promosindo, is set to debut Zuchex Indonesia 2014, a housewares and gift show that will be held in Jakarta.
The show will be jointly organized by Life Media, part of Tarsus, who are the organisers of Istanbul-based housewares and gift shows Zuchex and Ideal Homex.
