100-plus Show Organizers, Guests Taking Part in 2016 TSNN Awards in Atlantic City

More than 100 show organizers and their guests, as well as a bevy of industry suppliers and association executives all are heading Oct. 28-30 to Atlantic City, N.J., to celebrate the fastest-growing shows in the U.S. at the 2016 TSNN Awards.

“We are thrilled to be able to celebrate the success of these amazing shows, as well as The Show Manager of the Year Awards and TSNN Industry Icon Honoree David Loechner who heads Emerald Expositions,” said TSNN President and Editor-in-Chief Rachel Wimberly.

UBM Adds New Advanced Manufacturing Show in Cleveland

Manufacturing has contributed $99.8 billion to Ohio's Gross Domestic Product and is the largest of the 20 sectors in the state's economy.

Building on this growth, UBM, which has a large portfolio of advanced manufacturing shows such as MD&M West and EastPack, will launch Advanced Design & Manufacturing (ADM) Cleveland March 29-30 at the Cleveland Convention Center.

Exhibitions and Meetings Safety and Security Initiative Launches During IMEX America

In a room last week at IMEX America in Las Vegas, 135 people gathered to learn about the official launch of the Exhibitions and Meetings Safety and Security Initiative (EMSSI), which was founded to address safety and security concerns at venues around the United States.

“Everywhere we go in (the trade show and meetings industry), safety and security keeps us up at night,” said International Association of Exhibitions and Events President and CEO David DuBois.

Greenbuild International Expo and Conference Celebrates 15 Years with Sustainable Showfloor

Greenbuild International Expo and Conference was held Oct. 5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and brought in more than 18,000 attendees and 530-plus exhibitors for its 15th year to a showfloor of approximately 139,000 square feet of exhibit space.  

Both attendees and exhibitors alike were focused on all things green at the show.

CES Has Debuted Next Generation Consumer Technology for 50 Years

Hurricane Matthew Takes Aim at Eastern Seaboard, Events Begin to Cancel

Hurricane Matthew already has wreaked devastation across the Caribbean, and now the most current forecast has its trek taking aim at not only the East Coast of Florida, but also up through Georgia and the Carolinas.

With several places declaring states of emergency and people beginning to evacuate, trade shows and events up and down the possible affected areas also have started to cancel.

Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center has a number of events scheduled in the next few days.

RAI Amsterdam Buys 50-percent stake in International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference

RAI Amsterdam, owners and producers of METSTRADE (The Marine Equipment Trade Show), has purchased a 50-percent stake in the International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference from WoodenBoat Publications Inc., publisher of Professional BoatBuilder magazine. 

The announcement was made at the IBEX show, which currently is being held in Tampa, Fla.

Starting Oct. 7, RAI Amsterdam will partner with the National Marine Manufacturers Association to produce future IBEX events.
