Reed Huaqan, ShanghaiMart Combine to Form Mega Gift Event

Reed Huaqun Exhibitions Co., Ltd. and ShanghaiMart have reached an agreement to develop the Shanghai International Gift & Home Trade Fair, formerly produced by ShanghaiMart, into the Shanghai International Houseware, Premium, Arts & Crafts Creative Design Exhibition, organized by Reed Huaqun.

The newly combined mega-expo will take place at ShanghaiMart Aug. 28-30.

The Shanghai International Houseware, Premium, Arts & Crafts Creative Design Exhibition is the first in several new Reed initiatives scheduled for this year, according to company officials.

Internet Retailer Signs on for Six More Years in Chicago; Looks to Future Expansion

Since the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition launched nine years ago, it’s been a juggernaut, growing year-over-year in attendance alone from 1,100 coming to the event in 2005 to an estimated 9,500 attending the recent show at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

“We benefit from being in an industry that continues to be on fire,” said Craig Dooley, senior vice president, GLM and group show director, IR Events Group. “There is a lot of momentum behind the show in Chicago.”

National Confectioners Association Show Gets Even Sweeter

The National Confectioners Association’s Sweets & Snacks Expo, held May 21-23 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, not only snagged a 10-percent increase in attendees, but also the number of new exhibitors rose 17 percent and the showfloor grew 9 percent, compared with the 2012 event.


“For the fourth year in a row, the Expo demonstrated significant growth in all areas. Our 10- percent increase in overall Expo registration is an accomplishment we relish,” said NCA President Larry Graham.
