Exhibiting Companies, Showfloor Both Up for SIA's Snow Show in Denver

In its fourth year in Denver, the SnowSports Industries America’s (SIA) Snow Show continued to hit its stride, despite some challenging times in the industry, with an increase in exhibiting companies and net square footage when it recently ran at the Colorado Convention Center.

“The show had fantastic energy. Everyone is optimistic about the coming season," said Debbie DesRoches, SIA's director of Trade Show.

Atlanta Becomes Major Draw for Medical-related Meetings

With more than 65 medical groups selecting Atlanta last year as the site for future meetings, representing the largest number of rooms booked in the city for this segment since 2008, the destination quickly is becoming the go-to place for medical-related meetings.

Many of these meetings have never been held in Atlanta or are returning for the first time in more than a decade, according to Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau officials.

Connecticut Expos Launches Women's Health Services Expo

Connecticut Expos, producers of several women-oriented events in Connecticut, will launch a new show – the St. Vincent’s Health Services Southern Connecticut Women’s Expo – Sept. 21-22 at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn.

The event is expected to attract thousands of women looking to shop for the latest products and services in fashion, beauty, health, wellness, nutrition, fitness, financial planning, careers, home decor, automobiles, gifts, vacations, spas, education and more.

Those visual metaphors are not coincidental.  It’s essential to be seen at a trade show.  And yet, despite their best intentions, too many exhibitors end up … invisible.  Could that be you, too?

A little more than12 years ago at a gathering of top tradeshow organizers in Santa Barbara, Calif., the keynote speaker – himself an organizer who had just bought one of the largest shows and most well-known show groups in the U.S – stunned the room by telling his audience:  “You are nothing but a bunch of concrete salesmen” and then continued to skewer them for running, in his opinion, unsophisticated businesses, where they bought floor space at a discount and resold it at a premium.
