Messe München’s FENESTRATION BAU China concluded last week attracting more than 100,000 visitors to New China International Exhibition Center (NCIEC) in Beijing. That figure represents year-on-year growth of 6%. Running from 31st October to 3rd November, the show covered net exhibition space of just over 51,000 m2, an increase of 5% compared with last year. The Seoul Convention Bureau (SCB) recently confirmed that the city has secured 40 international conferences for the year to date. SCB anticipates that these events will bring a total of 35,000 delegates to Seoul. According to the SCB, 12 of the confirmed events will be large-scale conferences with more than 1,000 delegates each. International conferences selecting Seoul as the host have continued to increase in recent years. In 2017, 42 new conferences were secured by SCB attracting 30,325 delegates. This week, Deutsche Messe announced a deal to purchase a majority stake in LaserFair based in Shenzhen. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Launched in 2007, LaserFair’s management maintains it is the largest laser exhibition in southern China. The event focuses on key segment including laser processing, laser applications, and intelligent manufacturing. Tourism continues to dominate Asia Pacific’s travel industry, but the Corporate Incentive Travel segment (CIT), already representing one-quarter of the global travel industry, continues to make steady gains. The “who’s who” of the industry will be there when bauma CHINA opens its doors again from Nov. 27-30 in Shanghai. More than 3,300 companies will present themselves at Asia’s largest trade fair – 300 more than in 2016. Accordingly, 200,000 visitors are expected, which would be a new record. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 20th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), the third Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo and the 13th Eco Expo Asia concluded with a record number of over 73,000 buyers from 154 countries and regions visiting the three events - an increase of 6% on last year's attendance.HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Benjamin Chau said that the increase in buyer attendance showed the three concurrent fairs had been successful in creating synergy to help build an effective cross-industry sourcing platform.… more
