Marketplace Events Expand Portfolio with Shows in Indiana, Virginia
Marketplace Events continues to expand its fast-growing portfolio, most recently with a few more shows in Indiana and Virginia.
The company bought two shows in Indianapolis, Ind., and three home shows in Richmond, Va., bringing its portfolio to 51 shows including 47 consumer home shows and four holiday shows.
The company purchased the Indiana Flower & Patio Show, which began in 1958, along with the 67-year-old Christmas Gift & Hobby Show, from HSI Show Productions of Indianapolis.

The International Association of Venue Managers awarded the 2016 Convention Center Lifetime Achievement Award to Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) Executive Director Frank Poe, an IAVM member since Jan. 1, 1980.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be presented during the 2016 International Convention Center Conference in Pasadena, Calif., recognizes individuals who have had a significant impact on the convention center industry and the IAVM community.
IMPACT to Hold Asian Construction Week 2016
Due to strong growth in the Thai construction industry, IMPACT Exhibition Management, cooperating with Singapore-based Sphere Exhibits Pte, the Asian Concrete Construction Institute (ACCI) and Globe International Events Consultancy Pte. Ltd. (GIEC) will jointly organise “Asian Construction Week 2016.” The event will run from 21st to 23rd September IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center in Bangkok.
