Denise Medved Named Vice President of Sales and Business Development for International CES

The Consumer Electronics Association named Denise Medved vice president of sales and business development for the International CES and International CES Asia.

Medved previously ran Tiny Kitchen Inc., where she served as president and CEO since its establishment in 2005. Tiny Kitchen ran shows such as the MetroCooking DC’s Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show, which recently had a majority stake acquired by E.J. Krause & Associates.

PACK EXPO International Attendance Up 6.5 Percent to 48,600 in Chicago

PMMI — The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies – wrapped up its biannual PACK EXPO International last week, along with the newly collocated Pharma EXPO 2014,  and attracted a 6.5 percent increase in attendance, compared with 2012, topping 48,600 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The four-day event was held Nov. 2-5 and covered more than 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space, with 2,352 exhibiting companies -  an increase of more than 19 percent, compared with PACK EXPO International 2012.

Autumn brought a busy time with companies adding sales, marketing, operations and executive positions to their employee rosters.

Shepard Exposition Services added of two new national sales managers to help support its expanding business in the Orlando and Las Vegas markets. Alex Shelton will be based in Shepard’s Las Vegas branch and Tony Diehl in their Orlando branch.

Tarsus Group Posts Positive 3Q Interim Results; Adds South Beach Symposium to Medical Group

U.K.-based Tarsus Group posted its Interim Management Statement from July 1, 2014 to Nov. 10, 2014 that indicated that results were in line with the company’s expectations, with key events performing well.

"We have had a very good third quarter with strong performances across the major brands: Zuchex, Sign, Labelexpo and Offprice,” said Tarsus Group Managing Director Douglas Emslie.

He added, “We expect solid performances from our remaining shows in 2014, and the Group remains confident of delivering a good performance for the full year.”

SEMA Show Attracts 140,000-plus Attendees to Las Vegas Convention Center

The SEMA Show, organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association, filled the Las Vegas Convention Center last week from Nov. 4-7.

It attracted more than 140,000 qualified trade attendees from 130 countries, used 1.13 million net square feet of exhibit space (indoors and outside), showcased 2,400+ exhibitors (550 new ones), was covered by over 3,500 international media and had 1.500 vehicles on display.

Audi’s Rupert Stadler to Keynote Inaugural International CES Asia

The Consumer Electronics Association has unveiled that Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management at AUDI AG, will deliver a preshow keynote address at the 2015 International CES Asia.

The inaugural event will run May 25-27 in Shanghai, China, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) and will draw global businesses to showcase the latest products and technologies entering the Asian marketplace.
