The inaugural Phuket RendezVous will be held at the Royal Phuket Marina from 4th to 7th January 2018. The new event will replace the 14-year old Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX).
Royal Phuket Marina will partner with Asia RendezVous, an Asian luxury lifestyle event organiser, to host the Phuket RendezVous. The four-day show will showcase high-end products on land and in the water. Visitors are expected from Asia, Europe, as well as from across Thailand. UBM SES, formerly Singapore Exhibition Services, announced its Chief Executive, Lindy Wee, will step down and serve as a Non-Executive Director. Paul Wan, Managing Director of UBM Singapore, will take on the Chief Executive role effective from 1st July 2017.
Paul Wan joined UBM Asia in 2005 and was promoted to Managing Director of UBM Singapore in 2011. He is also a director of two UBM companies, Seatrade Communications Singapore Pte Ltd and Sea Asia Singapore Pte Ltd.

NASDAQ-listed Global Sources opened its Mobile Electronics at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) from 18th to 21st April 2017. Positioned as world’s largest mobile electronics sourcing event, the show featured 2,600 booths showcasing the latest mobile products.

The global event management platform, etouches, has been acquired by HGGC, a middle market private equity firm.

The National Propane Gas Association experienced record growth in both size and exhibiting companies at its 70th Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo, held April 21-23 at the Music City Center in Nashville.

First quarter revenues saw a significant jump for GES of nearly 35 percent to $318 million compared with $236 million during the same period in 2016.

The American Thoracic Society has tapped registration partner Convention Data Services to provide beacon technology for ATS 2017, the annual conference the society’s 113th annual conference, set for May 19-24 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.
For the first time at ATS, CDS will provide the event’s 16,000 attendees and exhibitors with smart badges containing wireless beacons designed to gather data regarding session attendance, exhibit hall traffic, activity in satellite locations and attendance at special functions.

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC.
