This year’s Music China, taking place Oct. 14-17 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai, will be the biggest ever with 105,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) has announced plans to launch an event in Malaysia in November this year in the lead-up to the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), a free trade zone emcompassing much of Southeast Asia and China.
AFECA will partner with the Malaysia Association of Convention and Exhibition Organiser and Suppliers (MACEOS) to co-organise the AEC+ Expo 2015 which will be held from 11th to 13th November.

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) will develop new welcome packages for incentive groups and corporate groups traveling to Thailand.
Part of TCEB’s “Thailand CONNECT the World,” a global marketing initiative, TCEB has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai Airways and another of other key partner organisations – including a number of leading hotel groups to attract increasing numbers of MICE visitors.

The Korean MICE industry is increasingly optimistic that the MERS outbreak is now under control. There have been no new cases reported in Korea for almost three weeks.
Kimberley Kim, a marketing official with event specialist MCI in Seoul, commented, “We had a conference last month and a number of the people who were scheduled to attend called to cancel. Automechanika Shanghai, organised by international exhibition organiser, Messe Frankfurt, which claims to be Asia’s largest trade fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, has just announced a 27% increase in the exhibition space to 280,000 m2 at a new venue, National Exhibition and Convention Center, in Shanghai. The next edition will run from 2nd to 5th December 2015.

Reed Travel Exhibitions’ IBTM Americas spent this year in Chicago and will head to Nashville, aptly named “Music City”, June 15-17 next year.
ibtm america 2015 featured more than 5,200 pre-scheduled appointments with mutually matched suppliers and buyers in a closed show environment that mixed business with networking and education.
Exhibitors averaged 29 appointments during the course of 2.5 days, according to ibtm officials.

Adding to its defense and security events portfolio, U.K.-based Clarion Events bought two more, Border Security Expo and the US/Canada Border Conference, from Eagle Eye Expositions, effective immediately. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Association of Women in Events, a new organization launched in March 2015, recently announced its founding board of directors.
The association received more than 65 applications for membership on the inaugural board, and founders spent several weeks vetting candidates for these important leadership roles.
