After its debut in 2014, the MEDICA CONNECTED HEALTHCARE FORUM will be continued during MEDICA 2015, World Forum for Medicine.
The HEALTHCARE FORUM will be a program highlight in the MEDICA IT section. MEDICA, billed as the world’s largest medical trade show, will take place Nov. 16-19 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have agreed to feature Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funded early-stage biomedical companies in an expanded Innovation Zone at the 2015 BIO International Convention®, on tap in June in Philadelphia.

Last week, Reed Exhibitions’ joint venture subsidiary, Reed Sinopharm, organised the 2015 Health Industry Summit (tHIS) for the first time at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai. The mega umbrella show spanned a total exhibition space of 290,000 m2 and drew 210,000 visitors from 150 countries and regions. The first day of tHIS alone reportedly attracted 100,000 visitors.

NASDAQ-listed Global Sources released its financial results for the first quarter ended 31st March 2015. Revenues were US$22.2 million, down 36% compared with US$34.5 million last year. In the same period, the company recorded IFRS net loss of US$2.1 million, compared with IFRS net income of US$145,000 in 2014. The drop in revenue was largely due to the shifting of one of the company’s major exhibitions from the first quarter in 2014 to the second quarter in 2015.

This week, the 6th edition of Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair (Medical Fair) featured more than 250 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions. The three-day fair ran from 18th to 20th May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) welcoming nearly 10,000 buyers.

Groundwork on the purpose-built Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s (the Centre) expansion at the adjacent Lot 91 officially is underway as the Centre celebrates a decade in business this year.
“We are thrilled to reveal that groundwork began in late April, and we expect the expansion to be completed in 2018,” said general manager Alan Pryor.
Lot 91 will be a mixed commercial development comprising of office tower, convention centre and retail podium. The project has a prime location within KLCC Precinct and has been designed for seamless integration with the existing Centre.

The first edition of C-star, Shanghai's International Trade Fair for Solutions and Trends all about Retail, featured 162 exhibitors from 23 countries, presenting the latest retail technologies and trends for the Chinese market on 53,800 square feet of net exhibit space.

The Professional Convention Management Association and the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau have renewed their commitment to grow conference management education further in Singapore and Asia with a new two-year partnership agreement.
As part of this agreement, PCMA and the SECB will grow the annual PCMA Meetings Forum Singapore that will see its second edition take place over two days in June.

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC.
