The Sands Expo & Convention Center is one of the busiest convention and meetings properties in the United States, with many thousands of attendees often at just one of the venue’s several annual events all wanting to be connected and stay connected at the same time.

More than 730 education institutions, professional associations, government departments, public organizations and private companies from 20 countries and regions took part in the 23rd HKTDC Education & Careers Expo, which was held in early February at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
The four-day expo featured two main zones, Education and Careers and, new this year, four Career Theme Days: Banking & Finance Day, Supply Chain & Logistics Day, Marketing & Management Day and Civil Service Day.

Hanley Wood Exhibitions' World of Concrete showed about a five percent increase in attendance and exhibit space, compared with last year, when it ran in Feb. 5–8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
There were 1,286 companies exhibited on 605,681 net square feet of space. Attendance was at approximately 55,000, compared with 52,088 last year. In 2012, the show featured 1,168 indoor/outdoor exhibitors on 552,500 net square feet.

The International Design Alliance has chosen Gwangju, South Korea, as the next host city of the 2015 IDA Congress.
The city was selected based on the strength of its bid, co-led by Korea Craft & Design Foundation and Gwangju Metropolitan City during an international competitive bid process, which began in September 2011, according to IDA officials.
The upcoming event in Gwangju will be the third iteration of the IDA Congress that was established to engage a dialogue between designers and non-design stakeholders.

Malaysia recently hosted a large incentive group of 2,300 from Japan’s upscale cosmetics production and distribution brand, POLA, who arrived in Kuala Lumpur Feb. 5.
The incentive programme, supported by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), was participated by 150 company officials and top sales staff from various parts of Japan.

Hong Kong-listed, Pico Far East Holdings announced its results for the year ended 31st October 2012. Revenues increased by 10% year-on-year reaching US$498 million. Profits dropped 3.8% to US$31 million, while diluted earnings per share for the year were HK$0.1963 (US$0.025).
The exhibition & event marketing services generated just more than 70% of the company’s revenues (US$351 million), a 13% increase over last year. The ninth edition of the biennial air and aviation exhibition, Aero India 2013, has attracted the participation of more than 600 exhibiting companies from India and overseas. Exhibitors displayed technology related to military and civil aircraft, avionics and sub-systems.

International exhibition organiser, ITE Group plc, announced that the group had acquired 75% of the Malaysian company, Trade Link ITE Sdn Bhd, on behalf of ITE’s wholly-owned subsidiary, International Trade and Exhibitions (JV) Ltd. The remaining 25% stake is held by Albert Lai, CEO of Trade Link. ITE agreed to pay £4 million (US$6.33 million) for its stake in the exhibition organiser.

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC. The Convention Way Grand Concourse project will include enhancements to the North-South Building, featuring an additional 60,000 square feet of meeting space, an 80,000- square-foot ballroom and new entry to the North-South Building along Convention Way.
