Mahaffey Fabric Structures acquired more than $24.2 million in assets from Los Angeles-based Classic Party Rentals, including tents, structure frame, fabric pieces and specialty structures.

With this purchase, the temporary structures solutions provider now boasts an expanded network of both personnel and products to cover large-scale activations, corporate events, festivals, sporting events, film productions and other special events nationwide.

San Diego Convention Center Begins $10.5 Million Sails Pavilion Roof Replacement Project

After almost three decades of service, the San Diego Convention Center’s Sails Pavilion roof, known for its white peaks that are visible from the air, land and bay, is coming down and will be replaced with a brand new structure.

“The white sails roof atop our 90,000 square foot Sails Pavilion exhibit space is part of what has made the San Diego Convention Center one of the most recognizable venues, worldwide,” said Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe, president and CEO of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation.

Nancy Walsh to Leave Reed Exhibitions After 32 Years

Nancy Walsh, president of Reed Exhibitions U.S., is leaving the company after more than three decades.

Over her tenure, Walsh held numerous roles across the business and worked in a variety of different disciplines.

The 2017 Green Venue Report: The State of Convention and Exhibition Center Sustainability has been released.

In its fourth year, the GVR is an industry-wide initiative designed to provide benchmarking data, catalyze best practices and stimulate competition around global convention and exhibition center sustainability.

The project is the brainchild of Greenview, a sustainability consulting and research firm based in the U.S. and Singapore that provides strategy, programs, measurement and reporting for hospitality, travel and tourism organizations.
