How IMEXLive Captured the Trade Show Buzz at IMEX America

If you logged onto the 2013 IMEX America homepage during recent trade show and conference in Las Vegas, you instantly got a taste of what was happening on the showfloor in real time through IMEXLive. It was like getting hooked on reality TV.

The overlay (or pop-up) page featured a live webcam, a number of appointments currently in session, and search of exhibitors and educational sessions, as well as a live stream of content pulled with show-related hashtag searches from Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Google+ and Instagram.

When several thousand trade show organizers and suppliers gather this week in Houston for the Expo! Expo! FABTECH 2013 Sets Records Across the Board

Steady manufacturing recovery and an increasing need for faster, cheaper and better production drove record numbers at FABTECH 2013, a metal forming, fabricating and welding event, that took place Nov. 18–21 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

A total of 40,667 attendees visited 1,573 exhibitors to see live equipment demonstrations, compare products side-by-side to find cost-saving solutions at product displays spread across a 650,000 square foot showfloor.

ISC West Collocates with International Tourism Safety Conference in 2014

Next year, ISC West will be collocated with the International Tourism Safety Conference in April at the Sands Expo & Convention Center.

The International Tourism Safety Conference is hosted by the International Tourism Safety Association, the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Las Vegas Security Chiefs Association.

SIBICO International, Reed Exhibitions Team Up on Russian-based ECWATEC, WasteTech Trade Shows

SIBICO International’s ECWATECH and WasteTech trade shows in Russia have a new partner, with U.K.-based Reed Exhibitions signing on to join forces with SIBICO to further develop the two shows.

ECWATECH was launched in 1994 and is the leading water technology forum and exhibition. WasteTech was launched in 1999 and is the leading event for waste management, recycling, renewable energy and environmental technologies.

In the last 10 years or so there have been fundamental technological and economic changes that have rewritten the trade show rule book. Not rules like how close to the aisle your exhibit structure can be or how loud your music can play, but rules about what it takes to succeed on the showfloor.

Some changes evolved slowly over the years, and some were wrenched into place almost at once. Here’s what’s changed – and how you can adapt to those changes:
