Offshore Technology Conference Heads Overseas to Malaysia in 2014

The Offshore Technology Conference unveiled at its recent event in Houston that it will take its show overseas next year to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

OTC Asia 2014 will take place March 25-28 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. OTC already has held an event in Brazil in 2011 and will again this year.

“Malaysia is an obvious choice as our first Asian host as many of the world’s most well-known international oil and gas companies are present,” said Stephen Graham, executive director of OTC.

PMMI and ISPE Partner to Launch Pharma EXPO

PMMI, owner and producer of the PACK EXPO trade shows, and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering have partnered to launch Pharma EXPO, a new event designed to connect pharmaceutical, medical device and nutraceutical manufacturers with the packaging, processing and other supply chain technologies they need to meet rigorous industry regulations and grow business.

The event will debut in Nov. 2-4, 2014, and collocate with PACK EXPO International at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

HD Expo Sees Slight Attendee Uptick at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas

It's difficult to stay at an average hotel after a trip to HD Expo, the annual gathering for the hospitality design industry that took place May 15–17 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Where else would you see a golden tree of crystal chandeliers, entire bedrooms decked out in silk and satin and flower walls that make you pinch the petals to see if they're real?

Virtual Trade Shows: Will They Replace Face-To-Face Shows?

When it comes to “virtual trade shows”, I agree with Gertrude Stein’s long-ago observation: There is no there, there.

A virtual event and an in-person event can each be described as a “trade show”. True … and a TV turkey dinner and mom’s Thanksgiving turkey dinner are both “turkey dinners”.

Discovering Fresh Horizons at United Fresh 2013 Show

Fresh fruit and vegetables, stunning displays and samples and education on best practices and social responsibility within the produce industry – that was the recipe for the 2013 United Fresh show, which attracted more than 5,000 attendees, from 4,200 in 2012, and 275-plus exhibitors, a 10-percent uptick from last year, to 65,000 square feet of exhibit space.
