Reed Exhibitions Buys Latin America's Largest Hardware Show

Mexico is fast becoming a hot spot for trade show companies looking to expand their portfolios into the Latin America market, with Reed Exhibitions acquiring Expo Nacional Ferretera, the largest event in the region serving the hardware, construction and electrical markets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The show draws 80,000 buyers from 30 countries and 1,300 exhibitors to a 50,000 net square meter (538,195 net square feet) showfloor at Expo Guadalajara.

Chicago's McCormick Place Will Use 100 Percent Wind Energy

With the WINDPOWER 2013 Conference and Exhibition at Chicago’s McCormick Place this week, it was perfect timing to announce the venue has committed to obtaining 100 percent of its electricity from wind power.

“We are committed to having renewable energy as part of our comprehensive efforts to implement environmentally-friendly, sustainable practices,” said David Causton, general manager of McCormick Place.

InfoComm China 2013 Sees 20-percent Attendee Increase at Beijing Show

In its 8th year, InfoComm China 2013 continues to grow, drawing 19,431 attendees, a 20-percent increase compared with the 2012 show, to the China National Convention Center in Beijing.

The three-day annual pro audiovisual show, held in early April, has grown so much since its inception that next year it will fill the entire CNCC, according to show organizers.

The EMS team traveled to Orlando, Fla., for the Southeast Acquirers Association’s Annual Conference this past March. While there, we organized a 6-second Vine Video Contest.

My apologies for the redundant structure of that last sentence to those already familiar with Vine. For those who are not, however, @VineApp is precisely that - a 6-second video application streamlined through Twitter, playing on loop upon publication.
