International CES 2015 Expands into New Space, Adds Content

The Consumer Electronic Association’s 2015 International CES presented attendees from around the world, with the latest in autonomous cars, wearable technology, the Internet of Things and much more Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas.

The world’s largest tech event just keeps growing, taking over the entire Las Vegas Convention Center, much of the Sands Expo Convention Center and parts of Aria.

People News: Hirings Close Out 2014, Continue into 2015

Going into the end of last year and starting 2015, companies have continued to add to their ranks by adding board members, promoting from within or hiring a veteran in the field.

Lew Shomer, chairman of 5NET4 and ABILITIES EXPO, said that Charlie McCurdy, CEO of Apprise Media, will join the Board of Directors of 5NET4.

McCurdy’s role will be to help Abilities Expo extend their brand through spin-offs, additional launches and acquisitions.

I read a tech crunch article recently about Microsoft buying Mojang (makers of Minecraft) for the mere sum of $2.5 billion dollars. If you have a child in the tween age bracket, I don’t need to explain what Minecraft is. This popular video game was founded with the understanding that gamers want to contribute and participate, not simply consume the game.

Trade shows typically only last a few days, but the planning that goes into them takes far longer – in fact, it should begin as far as a year in advance. Here's a quick rundown of what you need to do and when.

T-minus 12 months: Look into the trade show options within your industry, then zero in on the one(s) that will best complement your brand's marketing and sales strategy. Research the event(s) – previous exhibitors, attendee demographics, the size of the venue, etc. – then use this information to put together a budget and ROI projection.
