Most of the time, event mobile apps are selected well after the event management software is in place. The Wilmington Convention Center, the largest convention center on the North Carolina coast, launched a brand new Web site, www.businessmadecasual.com.
The highlight of the new site is a virtual 360° tour that takes meeting and convention planners on a digital journey of the center’s venues and amenities.
The virtual tour gives users the ability to start with an overview map of the entire facility and to then take a closer look at specific interior and exterior meeting spaces, as well as areas surrounding the waterfront building.

With more than 80 events in 25 countries around the world, dmg::events has targeted the United States market as a prime area of future growth opportunity for the company.

In an effort to give recent college grads an opportunity to get their feet wet in the trade show industry, Reed Exhibitions has launched a Sales Academy at its Norwalk, Conn., office.
The Sales Academy will provide intensive training and hands-on development in a variety of sales competencies and will be offered to a total of 20 budding professionals on an annual basis.

The National Retail Federation’s Retail’s Big Show broke attendance records, with 30,000 people, an uptick from 27,500 last year, Jan. 12-15 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York.
There also were 555 exhibiting companies, up from 494 last year, and 205,000 net square feet, up from 168,000 net sq. ft. last year.

After a long-awaited time, the Boise (Idaho) Centre, the city’s convention center, will be getting some additional space, with plans to nearly double the 50,000 square feet now available.
The Greater Boise Auditorium District has agreed to purchase adjacent space to the existing center that will allow it to expand by 43,000 sq. ft., including a 15,000 square-foot ballroom, 7,000 square-foot commercial kitchen and an additional 14,000 sq. ft. of meeting room space and 7,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space.

Adding to its audiovisual offerings, Dallas-based Freeman recently bought Audio Visual Management Group, an AV provider for association trade shows, business meetings, and special events based in Richardson, Texas.

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC. The Convention Way Grand Concourse project will include enhancements to the North-South Building, featuring an additional 60,000 square feet of meeting space, an 80,000- square-foot ballroom and new entry to the North-South Building along Convention Way.
