With Tarsus Group’s recent acquisition of Turkish Organizer CYF Fuarcilik A.S., not only does Tarsus become one of the leading show organizers in the country, but it also signals the completion of its 50/13 strategy one year early, in which 50 percent of the company's revenue will come from emerging markets by 2013.
A 75-percent stake of CYF Fuarcilik A.S. was purchased by Tarsus for £6.2 million ($10 million) and includes two leading shows in Turkey:

On Oct. 5, BlueStar’s VARTECH 2012, a trade show for vendors and resellers of POS, ADC, Mobility, RFID, Digital Signage and Security technologies, took to the seas.
This marked the first time the show took place aboard the Carnival Imagination, a four-day cruise to the Bahamas.

The four-day Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the concurrent electronicAsia attracted more than 97,000 buyers from 140 countries and regions, with the electronics portion drawing a 5-percent increase, compared with last year’s show.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Councils’ combined exhibitions at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre also welcomed 3,900 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions.

Marina Bay Sands has had its busiest MICE month ever, with 13 tradeshows and several key conferences scheduled for the Singapore-based venue in October.
The 13 tradeshows – approximately four times the monthly average since Sands Expo & Convention Center opened in April 2010 – will attract up to an estimated 46,000 delegates from industries as diverse as architecture, property, travel and hospitality as well as energy, according to venue officials.

International sports, venue and entertainment organization AEG Facilities has expanded its Convention Center Management and Services Division by naming Brad Gessner vice president of Convention Centers.
AEG currently operates convention centers in Australia, Kuala Lumpur, Oman and Qatar.

The Food Marketing Institute and United Fresh Produce Association decided this year’s collocation in Dallas went so well they will team up again on their respective shows June 10-13, 2014, at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

Mack Brooks Exhibitions reported a 50-percent growth in number of exhibitors and booth space at the latest edition of inter airport China which took place at the China International Exhibition Centre this Sept. 26-28.
The four-day trade show attracted 106 exhibitors from 18 countries where 65 percent of booth space was made up of local Chinese exhibitors. In total, more than 2,800 visitors attended the biannual show – an increase of 41 percent from the previous edition in 2010.

In a bid to attract more events from the U.S., the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has officially launched its ‘Sustainable Challenge’ campaign at the international exhibition for MICE travel, IMEX Americas, in Las Vegas.
In 2011, TCEB reported the arrival 49,000 MICE travellers from the Americas (including the U.S., Canada, Central and South America). Together, they generated revenues of around US$98 million, up 16 percent from 2010. The northern Malaysian state of Penang plans to set up a convention bureau in the near future to attract more MICE business to the region. It is not yet known whether the bureau will be government assisted or privately run at this stage.
There will also be a number of new MICE facilities opening in Penang in the coming years. The subterranean Penang International Convention & Exhibition Centre(sPICE) is scheduled to open in 2015. sPICE will contain a floor area of 4,459 m2 along with a business class hotel and F&B services.

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC. The Convention Way Grand Concourse project will include enhancements to the North-South Building, featuring an additional 60,000 square feet of meeting space, an 80,000- square-foot ballroom and new entry to the North-South Building along Convention Way.
