The Exhibition & Event Association of Australia(EEAA) announced the second project update on the redevelopment of Darling Harbour will take place March 23. The project update is intended to communicate the latest news, keys issues related to the timetable, impacts during construction and strategies for business continuity of the redevelopment. The project, managed by Infrastructure NSW(INSW) on behalf of the New South Wales (NSW) Government, will cause closure of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre(SCEC) during some phases of the redevelopment. Germany-based international exhibition organiser, Messe Frankfurt, is exploring ways to expand its business in Asia, particularly in the Philippines. Reed Exhibitions announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Australia’s clean energy event, All-Energy Australia, for an undisclosed amount. All-Energy Australia, launched in 2009, is a two-day event held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC). The 2011 edition attracted over 3,600 participants and 230 exhibiting companies to the event. The inaugural edition of the Asia Apparel Expo-Berlin, organized by Kenfair International, concluded with the attendance of 171 Asian exhibitors from mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh and Indonesia –over 70 percent of exhibitors were from Hong Kong and mainland China. The Specialty Equipment Marketing Association, which owns the massive SEMA Show for the automotive specialty products sector, bought Performance Racing Industry, producers of the motorsports business magazine and PRI Trade Show. The transaction is set to close in late March.
